MONTEREY NEWS - WEB SITE NOT US

As the December 2001 issue goes to press, it has come to my attention that an Internet Site is being set up using the name "MontereyNews.org. Readers of the Monterey News should be aware that this site is not operated by the Monterey News, and in no way has anything to do with this paper or with views or articles published in it. The site is operated by part-time Monterey resident Glenn M. Heller.

Our community newspaper is now in its thirty-first year of providing a way for townspeople and our neighbors in surrounding towns to converse about town news, activities, and other concerns. Mr. Heller evidently has been unable to come up with an original name for his web site and has chosen to use our name. He also is prominently displaying the Monterey Town Seal on the site. If you choose to visit the site you might want to let him know what you think about all of this. You also are encouraged to write us with your thoughts.

Mr. Heller also operates a web site using the name WAMC.net which has no connection with the public radio station.
